The E-Series cutaway is the best-selling shuttle bus platform in America, and the MAVRYK is HLE's flagship on it. When you picture a shuttle bus — at the airport, outside the hotel, on the assisted living route — this is the bus you're picturing.
The reason the platform dominates is simple: it fits the most jobs. The body is full width, so you get a wide aisle and wide seats — passengers board, pass each other, and move with bags or walkers without turning sideways. Floor plans run up to 26 passengers, with wheelchair positions, rear luggage, and luggage racks available across the range. Parts and service for the E-Series are everywhere in the country, and every mechanic has worked on one.
Pick the MAVRYK when you want the standard answer: a full-width shuttle on the most proven chassis in the industry, with the most floor plans to choose from. Step down to the STRYKR when your drivers need a bus that handles like a van. Step up to the KAVLYR when your groups outgrow what an E-Series should carry.
The MAVRYK is also the HLE body that has been through the FTA's Altoona program — the federal 7-year/200,000-mile durability test — and passed on HLE's first attempt at the current standard. Same cage, same one-piece sidewalls, same subfloor as the rest of the line, with the test report to show for it.
Rotating, non-professional drivers? See the STRYKR. Groups past 26? See the KAVLYR.

Reading the fuel economy numbers. The EPA does not rate cutaway shuttle buses, so there is no window sticker. These come from the FTA’s Altoona test, which measures fuel use on three federal duty cycles on the same dynamometer for every builder. Manhattan is dense stop-and-go at low average speed — the hardest work a shuttle does. Orange County Bus Cycle is a mixed suburban route with regular stops, closest to how most shuttles actually run. HD-UDDS is urban plus sustained highway, what an airport run or a longer charter looks like. Numbers are comparable between builders only when both buses were tested under the current protocol, in place since 2016.
Specifications are from the 2026 HLE order forms and published chassis data, and vary by chassis and configuration. Confirm the exact build with your dealer before writing a purchase order. Overall length and step riser height are published per configuration — ask your dealer or call 574-343-2150.

Every MAVRYK carries the same construction: powder-coated steel cage, one-piece pressure-laminated sidewalls, 5/8" PerformMAX 500 subfloor, Impact Guard roof, in-house wiring harnesses with marine-grade connectors — and every single unit runs the rain booth and a 25-mile road test before delivery.
