How a warranty claim works

Published, so you are not guessing.

The process

  1. File within 14 days of discovering the issue. That is the filing window. Tell us as soon as you see it — a small leak reported in week one is a very different repair from the same leak reported in month six.
  2. Send the VIN, photos, and a description of what the vehicle is doing. Photos save more time than any other single thing.
  3. We respond within two business days. In practice it is usually the same day, often within a couple of hours. Two business days is what we will commit to in writing.
  4. We authorize the repair before work starts. Get the authorization first. Work performed without it is the most common reason a valid claim turns into an argument.
  5. Repair happens through your dealer, a qualified shop, or the factory, depending on what it is and where the bus lives.
If the bus is down and cannot run its route, say so in the first line. Vehicle-down claims move to the front.

Chassis coverage comes from the chassis manufacturer — Ford, GM, Freightliner or International — and runs on their terms through their dealer network. Component makers such as the lift manufacturer carry their own coverage as well. Ask us and we will tell you which of the three you need for a given problem.
